Bartele Gallery – Antique Maps & Prints

In 2009 Bartele Santema opened a gallery in Indonesia, offering antique maps and prints of Asia, but with a strong focus on the Dutch East Indies.

After 25 years in ‘De Oost’, Bartele decided together with his wife Roos and three kids to move back to The Netherlands in 2014. In the pittoresque village of Langweer in Friesland he now continues his passion for buying and selling old books, prints and maps, but mainly online on channels like 1stdibs.com and Vinterior.

Bartele Gallery in Langweer offers a wide range of decorative prints and maps in all price ranges, where the focus in the Jakarta Gallery is still very much on The Dutch East Indies.

When in the north of Holland, do not hesitate to visit Langweer – a pleasant village on the lakeside with a number of restaurants and terraces and where you are always welcome in Bartele Gallery to browse in the drawers and bookcases!
